FAQs
What is a Cookie Pie?
Barbara’s Cookie Pies are a cookie-in-a-cookie. It all starts with premium-quality butter cookie dough made from a family recipe passed down through the generations. This buttery–rich cookie dough (a treat by itself) forms the bottom layer of each cookie pie. Then each is garnished with delectable toppings made from quality fresh ingredients such as fresh fruit preserves, marshmallow, creamy peanut butter, coconut, apple, buttercreams, caramel, almond, real chocolate and more - for a palate-pleasing treat. It’s the evolution of the cookie into something bigger and better.
How much do they weigh?
Barbara’s Cookie Pies are 7" in diameter and weigh between 16-20 oz. on average. Considering that gourmet butter cookies cost $28-30/lb at retail, Barbara’s Cookie Pies are economically priced especially given the high-quality ingredients used .
How should they be eaten?
Barbara’s Cookie Pies look like a pie, but eat like a cookie. You slice the pie into your desired wedge size and then eat with your fingers, like a cookie. Some people like to use a fork and that’s fine too! Some varieties are best served warm with ice cream and for those varieties, eating with a fork is recommended.
What size wedge/slice do you recommend?
This is totally up to personal preference. However, Barbara’s Cookie Pies are very rich and flavorful so a little goes a long way. You should get between 8-12 slices per Cookie Pie.
What is the best way to slice a Cookie Pie?
Using a sharp knife with pointed tip, slice from the center of the Cookie Pie outward toward the crust. Repeat all the way around the Cookie Pie.
Where are your Cookie Pies manufactured?
Barbara’s Cookie Pies are hand-made at a licensed commercial bakery in New Jersey.
What is the shelf life?
Barbara’s Cookie Pies contain no added preservatives and should be eaten as soon as possible upon receipt for optimal freshness. While it varies by item, in general they can be stored at room temperature for 7-10 days or refrigerated for 2-4 weeks. If not eaten right away, they should be stored in a freezer (up to 6 months) and then defrosted for 2 hours before serving. Cookie Pies have a long shelf life (like cookies) due their their low moisture content. But no worries, as they usually are gobbled up right away.

How should the Par-Baked Crusts and raw Cookie Dough Disks be handled?
Place in freezer upon receipt and simply thaw about 30 minutes before filling or baking. For the raw Cookie Dough Disks, allow the frozen package to thaw for about 30 minutes or just long enough to be able to remove the number of Dough Disks you want to use. Then place the rest of the package back in the freezer. Be sure to store in the resealable freezer bag which is provided. Remember, do not eat raw cookie dough; both Par-Baked Crusts and raw Cookie Dough Disks need to baked fully before consumption.
